Good call on the toothpicks. I use whittled down matchsticks sometimes.

Well I have made great progress on this one over this Weekend, the fenders should go on tonight, with most of the latches, and some other goodies. Will have some Pix up in a day or so.

Well here are some updates at last, I am almost there, just have the Jacks to finish, then paint and the tracks,

Front end

Here is a mudguard, with all the hinges and Pins in place

Above is a shot of the lights that I had to scratch as the kit ones were not to good, yo will also see the springs that are to hold the mudguards in place, the springs are from auto, valve stem seals, nice and small.

Shovels in  position.

Tail light and Extinguisher in place.

Hope you enjoyed.

Well I have just cut all 240 track links loose from their Tree's, Yea.... now i have to link them all, the links look good with no clean up required so kudos to Armor Track on that one, I just hope that there are enough links, due to the fact that rumor has it that the tracks are to short, so we will just have to see. Huh Wink

 Angry Angry

Well Guys I am absolutely devastated. Assembled the tracks and you wont believe it but they are 30 links per side short, although the number of links are correct, well the Ferdi should have around the 112 links per side, I have 120 and they are still 30 short, so i would say that someone cocked up badly here. Unfortunately Ferdi will be boxed in an Ice Cream tub now until I can find another set of tracks, Ie Kastan or Fruil, or I will see if I can pick up a set of Hobby Boss Tracks for Elephant. Well onto the next Project for now I think, wasted the last 3 weeks to get Ferdi done, and this, but he has been a tough Nut to crack from day 1, I will not trash him as he looks fabulous. Cry Cry

Catch you guys later

Well guys, we are back on Track and a lot quicker than what I thought. Collected the Hobby Boss Tracks today and it looks like they might just fit. started cutting the links off and well that is something else. each link is connected to the sprue in 6 different places, which means my cutter is going to work 1344 times  Shocked . oh and not all cutters are fine enough to do the job, only my Tamiya cutters managed the job, not the testors ones or the academy ones. Luckily if you cut properly there is no cleanup to do. Cheesy

Hay that sound grate I use the HB track on my Sd.Kfz 251/1 Stuka zu fuss project. and I use a mix of sprue cutter from Micro Mark, Sqadron and Hobby Lobby. I'll have to try those Tamiya cutter. Any way It's good to hear your back on "Track"...... Cheesy

Well it looks like we are definitely in business now. taking longer than what i thought due to the fact that I have to assemble it a piece at a time. Looks as if this time round all is going to be ok.  Grin Grin
